Tours & Activities in Cambridge
HI!
Are you passionate about history and archaeology or are you simply curious about the past of humanity? Well, I share your passion and am excited to take you on one of my tours.
During our journey, you will have the opportunity to explore the hill beneath which lies the origin of Cambridge and the original location of the " Bridge over the Cam " (Cambridge) from the time when the Roman legions were stationed here. We will see one of the four oldest surviving round churches in the UK and walk past the iconic gates of St. John's College and Trinity College (the rivals, the rich, the prestigious). If possible, we will also enter the beautiful paddocks of Trinity College.
As we continue, you will be fascinated by the beautiful King's College Chapel, in the famous corner of the Backs, and I will share the intriguing stories of its connection to the Wars of the Roses . We will discuss the legendary mathematical bridge and how it became a symbol of Cambridge. You will also learn about the relationship between a pub and a laboratory that has left its mark on our modern world. You will understand what colleges are and explore why these unique institutions exist.
This 90- to 100-minute journey promises both knowledge and enjoyment. Be prepared for a 1.4 mile (2.4 km) walk, neither sluggish nor idle, and in case of rain, expect puddles, especially in the Backs area. Please note that access to facilities is not guaranteed, so I recommend using restrooms before the tour begins.
I look forward to guiding you through the centuries in this extraordinary city.
Important: This tour is pet friendly and almost every part of the route is wheelchair accessible. However, there are some points, such as the beginning, where stairs and inclines may be a challenge for wheelchairs. Please also monitor communications via GuruWalk chat, as there may be updates. Failure to verify this information could potentially result in missing the tour.
