I am Josué and I welcome you to the beautiful Renaissance city of Úbeda , where I invite you to discover this Renaissance gem in the province of Jaén, twinned with the city of Baeza, sharing the title of World Heritage Site with it since 2003.
On this occasion, we will have the opportunity to visit the city that has the square that houses the most monuments per square meter in Europe, and we are not only talking about their number, but also about the architectural beauty they possess as well as their originality, personality and history imprinted in each of its buildings. We start from the Mirador de El Salvador where we will learn about the origins of the city, marveling at the majestic Guadalquivir Valley and trying not to get lost in "Those Hills of Úbeda...", we will take a magical trip that will take us through the narrow streets of the historic center of the city, learning about some of the ins and outs that happened in the Gradeta de Sto. Tomás, along with the events that led San Juan De la Cruz to end up in the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites of San Miguel. We will stop at the Plaza del 1º de Mayo , where the first Market Square and meeting point of the Úbetense society was located. On our way back, we will pass through the emblematic Calle Real and finally we will end up in the monumental Plaza de Vazquez De Molina , the authentic Olympus of the patrons of Ubeda, among whom we find on the throne Francisco de los Cobos y Molina, secretary of state of the emperor Charles V and one of the main people responsible for providing the splendour that the city knew during the 16th century and that is still evident in its numerous buildings.

- Hospital of the Honest Old Men of El Salvador.
- Vázquez De Molina Square (Chapel of the Savior and Dean Ortega Palace).

- Gradeta de Santo Tomás (Ruins of Santo Tomás and Jewish Houses).
- Convent of San Miguel (Church of San Miguel and Oratory of San Juan de la Cruz).
- Plaza 1º de Mayo (Church of San Pablo and Town Hall).
- Royal Street (Vela de los Cobos Palace).
- Vazquez De Molina Square (Vázquez de Molina Palace, Our Lady of the Royal Alcazares, Bishop's Prison, Royal Granary and Palace of the Marquis of Mancera).
IMPORTANT: For the tour to take place, 5 walkers must attend. If the agreed minimum number is not reached, the tour may be cancelled at most 1 hour before the start of the tour.

Our visit will begin in Plaza de Andalucía, and will end in Plaza Primero de Mayo.

We go further, we will tell you about the labyrinthine network of Galleries or Passages that are located from Calle Real to the old Alcázar. We will also comment on the origin of Úbeda through its ancient town located in Úbeda la Vieja (Ancient Roman City called Salaria) and we will also talk about where La Torre de Tierra or Ibiut could be located, where skeletons were found buried that could have a height of more than two meters each individual. And many stories that will have to be told.

We will start with the Palace of Juan Vázquez de Molina, we will see, among other things, one of the best examples of a Renaissance patio, made by the great architect Andrés de Vandelvira, we will contemplate our Minor Basilica, Santa María de los Reales Alcázares, (third church of the diocese of Jaén) transformed over the centuries by the different cultures that inhabited Úbeda. We continue on our way seeing the so-called Bishop's Prison, the Palace of the Marqués de Mancera, the Old Pósito and the Renaissance Fountain (gift from the Venetian Senate to Francisco de los Cobos) while we head inside the Palace of Deán Ortega. We cannot leave this square without seeing the Sacred Chapel of the Savior of the World, Funerary Pantheon of the Secretary of Carlos I of Spain and V of Germany, to continue towards the neighborhood of San Pablo, where the first public fountain of Úbeda is located, the Old Town Hall and the Church of San Pablo, which gives its name to the neighborhood.
