Tours & Activities in Toledo
The city of three cultures? That's right, Toledo has a long Christian, Jewish and Muslim tradition.
On this guided tour we will see the most representative places of each of them.
We will be located in Plaza de Zocodover and we will walk through the narrow streets of the centre to discover the three cultures that have coexisted for centuries in the city. Every corner has a story to tell! We will take a tour of the different stages that have marked the history of Toledo. To do so, we will visit the most important places in the city. Our guides will take us into the city through the narrow streets of Toledo, above all, they will explain the peculiarities and history of these streets until passing by the Mezquita de las Tornerías, whose chronology places it in the 11th century. As we walk through the streets we can see how craftsmanship and history merge in its streets, damascening, swords and cutlery or pottery still survive in the traditions of the people of Toledo and thus we will arrive at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to place ourselves in an incomparable setting surrounded by the Toledo City Hall building, the Archbishop's Palace and the best... the Toledo Cathedral.
We will continue our free tour Tres Culturas to the Jewish quarter of Toledo, from the top of the San Cristóbal viewpoint. In addition, we will be able to observe the tobacco plantations of Toledo, this neighborhood and its beauty, with the view of the Synagogue of El Tránsito and Santa María la Blanca. The Paseo de San Cristóbal is the scene where the "Legend of the Toledo Night" tells us that one macabre night many Mozarabs were decapitated in the 9th century, as a result of the revenge of the muladíes. Then we will take the road back to the starting point but not before passing by the Church of the Jesuits, the convent of the Gaytanas and finally our free tour Tres Culturas will take us to a 15th century palace house that belonged to Don Rodrigo de la Fuente.
