This trip starts off with the flamingos at the Walvis Bay Lagoon, drive past the salt works and the famous ‘pink water” continued with a beach drive before we enter the Namib - Naukluft Park and Sandwich Harbour. Please feel free to ask your guide to stop for pictures anytime. We will have a 30 min break somewhere in the dunes where we will serve you some refreshments and a light lunch or breakfast should it be an early morning tour. A short drive through the centre of town into the township. A detailed explanation about our culture and different tribes. Take a little walk in the open market. We stop at a Herero lady where she explains Herero culture and religion. Followed by a visit to a Pre-primary school and kindergarten where travellers can interact with the kids. The Namibian South-Atlantic west coast is famously dangerous with foggy weather, many reefs, strong Benguela Current and swells. It is shrewn with countless remains of dead ships. One of these is the Shawnee a transport tug that ran aground on 16 February 1976, 15 miles north of Conception Bay. Another is the wreck of the Eduard Bohlen passenger and cargo ship, that ran aground south of Conception Bay on 5 September 1909 in thick fog and now lie about 600m inland.
