You will be able to participate in part of the preparation process. Also will learn the details of the traditional way of cooking caribbean meals, and to select fresh ingredients that are locally produced to elaborate this meals. I enjoy sharing my knowledge about animals, this area and it's unique culture. We will first visit The Cliff, a special place with breathtaking views of the ocean. On the hike to there and back we may see sloths and monkeys. At the Cliff you can take some amazing photos, it’s the perfect instagram opportunity. Then we'll drive around the town so you will get to know where is what. We will then visit Iguana Project, protected area where iguanas are raised to be released into the forest. This project is in a Bri Bri farm, so you will also learn about medicinal plants and Bri Bri culture. After that we will go to the waterfalls, a magical place in the woods, where we will relax and swim in the waterfall pool, share drinks and chat about Puerto Viejo and Pura Vida!

Next, we will enjoy a mouthwatering lunch prepared by a Bri-Bri cook in a very traditional way where you will savor the flavors of the local cuisine. Finally, we will go to the Ma-Cu Waterfall, a hidden gem in the jungle. You will have the opportunity to relax in the refreshing pool and eat some fresh fruit. We will end the day with fresh coconut water to hydrate your body.

From the beach to the tropical rainforest. It's only a short walk from Playa Negra and you’ll begin diving into the rainforest. First crossing an old cacao farm. Then you’ll pass three humble huts of indigenous families. One hour in you'll be in the depth of the forest. This jungle has species of plants and shrubs with healing properties. A wide variety of palms and giant trees over 250 years old. About 2 hours in you’ll be approaching a great surprise. Descend to the KEKOLDI river. Following it until we encounter an imposing 45 meters high waterfall. Enjoy swimming and appreciating the tropical jungle at this secret and remote place. After enjoying this magical, it’s time to head back to the start. You should know we will be walking in the jungle, so you might get some mud on your shoes.
