How The Tour Goes Our meeting place and the starting point of our tour is Levy Junction Mall (or wherever is convenient to you). It's well known and one of the biggest malls around and it's located right in the center of town. From here, we go through the Central Business District (CBD). Next we head over to Cairo Road via Katondo, a famous street in town. Cairo road is a major road and one of the busiest in the city. It is characterized by business activity and social interaction. It accommodates major banks (including the Bank of Zambia), renowned hotels, the Main Post Office and the iconic Findeco House (which is the tallest and one of the oldest buildings in town). Our next stop is COMESA Headquarters. COMESA is a trading Bloc like NAFTA in North America or the EU in Europe. It comprises 19 member countries from eastern and southern Africa. From COMESA we head over to Kamwala a major trading center that accommodates all sorts of traders from all walks of life. After Kamwala we may need to take a ten minutes ride to Kabwata Cultural Village, a center for Zambian made handcrafts. This is a good place for an African experience and many tourists get their keepsakes/souvenirs from here. On our way back from Kabwata we pass through Embassy Park, a mausoleum burial site for Zambian presidents. We also pass through the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The cathedral might not be Notre Dame but it is to Lusaka as Notre Dame is to Paris, an architectural beauty in its own unique way. Our last place to visit is the Lusaka Museum within which premises the Freedom Statue (a very significant symbol to the country) is also located. What You Need For The Tour Some small cash for admissions into certain places, e.g the Museum and the Embassy Park. We also may need to use a bus/taxi to get to other places, e.g Kabwata Cultural Village. You could maybe carry a camera or smartphone for you to capture some moments to remember, though not necessary. Whatever else you think might be necessary.
