Know the Pantanal – the largest floodplain on the planet, located in the center of the South American continent – is America’s main ecological sanctuary. The Chapada dos Guimarães National Park – This is an average of 760 m (2,500 feet) above sea level – is home to the sources of some of the main rivers that flow into the Pantanal. Its crystal clear waterfalls, streams, rock formations, and fauna give the National Park a unique beauty. Nobres has crystal clear rivers full of fish, caves, and waterfalls. Our local operating staff has been working with tourism in the area since 1990, so you are in good hands and will have the opportunity to spot countless animals and birds during this nature adventure trip.

The Pantanal Wetlands are the world’s largest expanse of flooded plains, covering 140,000 km² of countless bird species, endemic plants, Alligators, mammals, marine life and yes, even elusive Jaguars! Stepping in the footsteps of this mystical creature is worthy of its own dedicated tour and experience, particularly as even while we embark on our quest, there will be no shortage of wildlife encounters and tropical flora to be relished in their own right. Traveling mainly by boat through the Pantanal will give us our best opportunity to both catch glimpse of the ever-evasive ‘big cat’, while also having minimal impact on the natural environment around us, meaning that this vital though fragile ecosystem is preserved for years to come.
