Kibera is one of the largest slums found in the world. A place dubbed as " Chocolate City" which is generally a valley inhabited by slum dwellers a very safe place and interesting to visit.
The way of life here can be termed as "Survival for the fittest", especially in the most common places such as Gatwekera, Olympic, Soweto, Mashimoni, Lang'ata and Undugu among other places. Walking from Equity bank the pick up point through the Chief's camp where the Unseen Kibera slum begins.
On our way we will come across one of the oldest railway track still active to date. We will witness different parts of the slum from an overhead aerial view.
We will learn a little history on how kibera slum came into existence and its current inhabitants.
We will walk through the slum ways and houses and get to experience creativity at it’s best. We will notice basic life in the slum and how certain wants such as garbage collection, electricity supply, water supply and sewer lines are carried out.
