You will also get a taste of the Sami way of life, when enjoying a tapas meal in a traditional Sami tent, called "lavvo".

On this trip we take you outside of Alta to our historical, 150 year old mountain lodge in Gargia valley. After preparing you for the adventurous ride ahead we take you along the old postal road up to the very edge of Finnmarksvidda to a mountain range called Beskades. Through snow covered forests we make our way up to the expansive mountain plains. Here you can embrace the true arctic wilderness, surrounded by only snow and the sky in all directions. On the trip you will learn about our history and the lifestyle of the arctic, while also getting to experience Finnmarks culinary side with locally made snacks. Our certified Guide will show you how to drive the snowmobile, and make sure you have an adventure to remember.

Welcome aboard our Fjord Safari adventure! Enjoy a leisurely two-hour journey on Altafjord, exploring Finnmark's breathtaking landscape from the unique perspective of the water. Step onto our comfortable vessel, the Sea Runner, equipped with modern amenities including a toilet, presentation screens, and WiFi, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all guests. Join us for a ride along Norway's longest historical postal route. While the route was operated in the 19th century 30 different reindeer herding families got their mail delivered to them along this road. You will get a glimpse of what it used to take to deliver a mail up here in the sometimes-harsh, rough conditions of the arctic. We will take you on journey, following part of the original route between Gargia and Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge. This trip gives you an exhilarating way of exploring the arctic scenery just right outside our doorstep. While driving through the magical winter landscape, there is a possibility to see wildlife as well. Once we reach the highest point of the plains you will be impressed by the vast views that Europe’s largest mountain plateau has to offer.

Our dog carts let you explore the Arctic nature as it transitions from Autumn to Winter. Take charge and let the huskies lead the way on an unforgettable ride. Whether you want to be a passenger or try your hand at steering the cart and the huskies is up to you. The ride takes you on a journey through the forest and along the banks of the Alta River, famous for its salmon fishing. Our family joined their ranks over three decades ago. We have spent the years racing and learning about dogsledding. This knowledge is the foundation of the dog trips that we offer our guests. You’ll get to experience the Arctic countryside, just as it is changing its colours and preparing for the oncoming winter.

Embark on an adventure to the North Cape in the middle of the Arctic Winter: an extreme experience at the edge of the world. Suitable for free spirits and those seeking extreme and authentic experiences. We will depart early in the morning from the center of Alta and travel the 230 kilometers in a comfortable van to reach the northernmost point of Europe. We traverse majestic and untouched territories, among snowy expanses, fjords, and breathtaking cliffs. We stop at the most scenic spots to take some photos, and once we reach our destination, we enjoy a well-deserved hot meal. On the return trip, at any moment the Northern Lights might appear in the sky, making the experience even more memorable.

Explore breathtaking fjord landscapes and the wildlife of the Arctic while searching for the world’s largest mammal: the whale. In November to January, the orcas, humpback whales and other whales gather in the fjords close to Alta for their big herring-feast. These gentle giants enjoy their "food platter", and to witness this remarkable sight will give you memories for life. And this experience does not end here. The area is also home to the Arctic dolphins, the majestic sea eagle, with a wingspan up to 2.5 metres and other seabirds - species. For this tour we use different boats according to the size of the group and the weather conditions. Under the boat transfer to the hot-spot and in periods when the whales are diving, you can stay inside in the warm cabin and enjoy hot chocolate and snacks. Driving snowmobile is a great way to experience freedom and it is an activity that we really enjoy to offer. We arrange organized guided tours since 2007 and have the knowledge about the area and the best way to explore it. We will take you to breathtaking places with incredible and different views where we can stop and take some pictures. If we are lucky we can also meet a reindeer herd in their traditional migration over the mountain plateau.

We are a small kennel who is passionate about huskies and we love to share this passion with travellers from all over the world. we normally take up to 4 people at the time so we can offer you a personal and unique experience. During the winter time, you might also experience the Northern Lights during the trip if you are lucky! Alta’s stable, cold climate and easy access to the Finnmark Mountain Plateau has made Alta a dogsledding hotspot in Europe. Mushers from all over Norway and Europe have settled here to be able to dedicate as much of their time as they can to dogsledding. Our family joined their ranks over three decades ago. We have spent the years racing and learning about dogsledding. This knowledge is the foundation of the dogsledding trips that we offer our guests. We will take you to the tracks along the Alta River and the path where Europe’s best mushers race towards the finish line for the famous Finnmarksløpet. You don’t get much closer to Norway’s dogsledding culture than this. The frozen landscape is like nothing you’ll ever see, glittering in the sunlight and bathed in shades of blue, pink and purple during the light of the polar night. Feel the kiss of the cold on your cheeks and listen to the silence of the vast Arctic nature.

We dress up in warm clothes and get a briefing on how the ATV you will use works. When this is done, we get on the ATV and start our hunt for the Northern Lights! We follow the coastal road out towards the wild coast, where we have a good overview and good opportunities to see the magic northern lights if the weather is with us. The trip lasts about five hours, but if the northern lights are fantastic, we will stay until everyone is satisfied! Transport from all hotels in Alta, the docks, and the tourist office to the starting point is included.

We offer a tour for a small group to enjoy togetherness and excitement while hunting for Northern Lights in the beautiful landscapes of the Altafjord. We arrange organized guided tours since 2007 and have the knowledge about how to find the Northern Lights if the conditions are there. On our tours you normally will have 80-90 % chance of seeing this spectacular view. Each tour is different, as we focus on finding the optimal place with the greatest chance of seeing the lights. We therefore sometimes have to drive quite far to find them, while sometimes we find them in the surrounding area. Necessary driving distance decide whether we establish a camp with a fire, or whether we serve hot chocolate and snacks at one of our short stops. While enjoying the great outdoors, we will share with you local stories about Norwegian way of living, local history from the Stone Age, Sami culture, reindeer-herding, 2nd World War and the modern society in Alta. We are normally back just over midnight.

This trip focuses on experiencing the northern lights and we spend up to 4 hours out looking for this fantastic phenomenon. We start the evening with a small lecture about the northern lights. This is to give you an understanding of how it occurs, then we look at the conditions for this particular evening. We use our local knowledge to find the best places to experience the Northern Lights dancing in the night sky. Our guides will try their best to find the northern lights for you, but as the lights are a natural phenomenon we cannot guarantee you will see them

Did you know that the old legend says that if you wave something white to her, she will come, and take you? Before we go out in the twilight, you will get a briefing on how to have fun and explore with snowshoes. If you wish to try them, you are also welcome to stay around the lodge and enjoy the beauty of the night from there. You will learn about the surroundings and the magic of Gargia Valley.

Traveling to Nordkapp has always been a great journey. Adventurers, royalty, and expeditions have set the mountain plateau as their goal. Today boats, planes, and buses make this legendary place a popular destination. The journey to the North Cape from Alta will be especially legendary because we can see many interesting places along the way. Drive along the Goahtemuorjohka River, enjoy beautiful views. Go through Olderfjord, make a stop at Nordkapp Picnic Area, go through the North Cape Tunnel, and visit Honningsvog one of the northern settlements on Earth. We hope Nordkapp also becomes your journey. It will bring you to the end of a continent - and to the beginning of an adventure! We invite you to explore it today! Our journey begins at 8:00, and 10:00 we have a break stop. We arrive in the North Cape around 12:00. Then you can spend 2 hours sightseeing, leaving at 14:00 and returning around 18:00-20:00. We can cancel our trip because of the weather but this happens very rarely.

Bubbelen was described in both old and new travellers hand books as a local attraction in Langfjordbotn. From the region of Bubbelen there is also a pretty nice views of Russelvtinden. Following the river further up, you will also find a nice waterfall. The walk up from the road in Bognelvdalen is approximately half an hour. It is suitable for families with children and people who are not motivated for the long mountain walks! There are benches and bonfire up by Bubbelen.

Alta Museum - World Heritage Center for Rock carvings The rock art in Alta is one of eight Norwegian must-see attractions enlisted on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Alta’s World Heritage consists of rock carvings and rock paintings, the oldest more than 7000 years old. The rock art was created over a period of 5000 years. Cathedral of The Northern Lights. One of the most beautiful churches in the city of Alta, during the construction and design of the church the northern lights were a source of inspiration. House of Salmon. You will start your adventure with a 30 min drive up to our historical Gargia Lodge. From the lodge we will embark on an adventure into the Gargia forrest. Along the 2km long trail you will get to breath in the crisp forrest air and maybe experience wildlife also. After around 1,5 hour we will reach the waterfall, a magnificent conductor, orchestrating its dance over the ancient rocks. On the riverbank we will enjoy a short rest with coffee, tea and snacks. The tour is 2km each way and it take about 1,5 hours to reach the waterfall. Please bring: Hiking shoes Mittens, hat and scarf
